Polished on one surface, this piece of petrified wood has felt on the base to protect surfaces. Petrified wood is formed when a hot silica rich solution permeates the wood and perfectly preserves the wood grain. From the Triassic period, it is approximately 230 million years old and was found in Madagascar.
